Abstract:In order to solve the problems that distributed power brings to the protection of distribution network, aiming at distribution network including photovoltaic power, an algorithm based on wide-area protection matrix algorithm is presented to locate fault region. Current information of the node is collected by the IED, search direction is determined by the comprehensive amplitude of the fault current, both matrix of search direction and matrix of opposite search direction are given. In the process of revising the matrix, this algorithm will not make a distinction between intermediate node and edge nodes which belong to network topology, the same revision method makes the algorithm simple, it is adaptive for the changing network topology and clear to distinguish these two nodes through criteria. The results of case study show that the improved matrix protection algorithm for fault protection area location is effective.
