    针对电力线通信系统中,发射端与接收端之间存在大量噪声严重影响通信质量的情况,引用时频峰值滤波算法(Time-Frequency Peak Filtering, TFPF)作为噪声消除技术。考虑时频峰值滤波算法中窗长选择的严格限制,引用经验模态分解(Empirical Mode Decomposition, EMD)方法对TFPF进行改进。将信号分解为不同模态,在不同模态采用不同窗长进行TFPF滤波,以在信号保真和噪声压制方面得到更好的权衡。实验证明,相对原始TFPF,该方法具有更好的信号保真和噪声压制作用,可以有效地消除电力线通信系统噪声,降低误码率(BER),提高通信质量。

    Abstract:

    In the power line communication system (PLC), large amount of noise exist between transmitter and receiver which seriously affects the reliability of the signal transmission. This paper presents a noise mitigation method based on time-frequency peak filtering (TFPF). However, there is a large restriction to TFPF by the selection of window length. In order to obtain the good trade-off between noise suppression and amplitude preservation, this paper adopts EMD method to assist TFPF. It utilizes the decomposition characteristic of EMD which can decompose a signal to a series of intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) from high frequency to low frequency and select different window length for these modes. Numerical experiments show that the EMD-TFPF method can effectively eliminate the power line communication system noise, reduce the Bit Error Rate (BER) and improve the quality of communication system. Moreover, it can make a better tradeoff between noise suppression and amplitude preservation.
