In the traditional 10 kV switch substation, the inlet and outlet current protection are difficult to cooperate, thus this paper proposes that the outlet fault locks the inlet protection based on GOOSE. For the inlet protection, the GOOSE based inlet backup power switchover units are integrated into busbar backup power switchover units, and it does not need exclusive backup power switchover units, which saves equipment investment. The function of automatic sequence load shedding through distributed GOOSE information is added to the inlet protection. The method of outlet fault locking inlet protection, network backup power switchover units and automatic sequence load shedding are all applied in the field. The networked backup power switchover units and automatic sequence load shedding have achieved good results.
