During the automation development of transformer stations, the emergence of intelligent electrical devices and that of electromechanical devices in particular such as intelligent switch and photoelectric mutual inductor promotes the automation technology of transformer station into a digital stage．This paper discusses the meaning of digital substation automation system and the digital schemes of substation automation system is introduced.
