kV GIS substation of Shajiao B power station is the power transfering center of Shajiao power generating base. It holds the balance of Guangdong province power network. On the basic of introducing the main equipments of the GIS substation, this paper investigates the equipment faults in nearly several years, discusses the aging inevitability of the equipments, summarizes the conditions and results of routine detecting and tests, and puts forward the necessary operation surpervising instruments and managing steps, and the importance for safety operation and maintenance.
