Abstract:The double-ended traveling wave fault location technology uses the time difference between the initial wave head of the fault traveling wave to achieve fault location, and has higher accuracy and reliability than single-ended and traditional fault location techniques. The double-ended traveling wave fault location equipment must undergo special check and test before putting into operation, this is what the traditional relay protection tester can't do. This paper presents a design and implementation scheme for a test system which is used to verify the equipment, and a large number of experimental tests are performed on the prototype. The experimental results show that the voltage and current output of the test system have high frequency accuracy, amplitude accuracy and synchronism, which can meet the verification requirements of the double-ended traveling wave fault location equipment.
